If you've ever typed "I'm a wedding photographer who works with laid-back couples..." for the fifteenth time, this guide is your fix.
The single biggest upgrade between "AI is fine, I guess" and "AI actually saves me hours" is context. AI does dramatically better work when it knows your business. The Brain File is how you give it that knowledge once, in one document, instead of re-explaining yourself in every chat.
What goes in it
One document, about a page long, covering:
Don't write it. Get interviewed.
Staring at a blank page trying to describe your own business is miserable. So don't. Make AI interview you:
Answer like you're talking to a friend. Typos, half-sentences, and rambling are all fine. It's the cleanup crew and the interviewer at the same time. Twenty minutes later you'll have a document that would've taken you a whole afternoon to write alone.
Where to keep it
Save the finished write-up somewhere you can grab it in two seconds: a Google Doc, a note on your phone, wherever you'll actually find it. Then use it one of two ways:
Watch what changes
Ask for an Instagram caption before and after the Brain File and you'll see it immediately. Before: generic fluff that could be any business. After: it mentions your kind of client, your kind of service, in something close to your voice. Every guide on this site works better once this file exists.
One more habit: your business changes, so give the file a two-minute touch-up every month or two. New prices, new service, new goal. It's a lot easier to update a page than to re-explain your business from scratch.
